Book Review: Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover

March 3, 2016 in books

1

Hi guys! I bought Maybe Someday on National Book Store last week!!! My brother, cousin and I were just strolling at the mall one day after church practice when my eyes wandered across the bookstore and accidentally saw this book. I could not believe they have Maybe Someday there, I was like “FINALLY!!!” and then I immediately dragged the both of them inside. Haha.
I’ve read this book a hundred times (i’m exaggerating lol) on its ebook version and it’s one of the books I will never get tired of re-reading. Colleen Hoover wrote this book along with other amazing books such as Point of Retreat which I bought last January (and is included on my January faves). Since today’s blog post is all about this book, I thought might as well share a quick review for you guys.

Title: Maybe Someday

Author: Colleen Hoover

Sypnosis: At twenty-two years old, Sydney is enjoying a great life: She’s in college, working a steady job, in love with her wonderful boyfriend, Hunter, and rooming with her best friend, Tori. But everything changes when she discovers that Hunter is cheating on her—and she’s forced to decide what her next move should be.
Soon, Sydney finds herself captivated by her mysterious and attractive neighbor, Ridge. She can’t take her eyes off him or stop listening to the passionate way he plays his guitar every evening out on his balcony. And there’s something about Sydney that Ridge can’t ignore, either. They soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one.
A passionate tale of friendship, betrayal, and romance, Maybe Someday will immerse readers in Sydney’s tumultuous world from the very first page.

First of all, I just want to say PLEASE READ THIS BOOK. I have nothing against the book. I loved it. It’s probably my all-time CoHo favorite. Yes, I’m bias like that.

Maybe Someday is a rollercoaster ride. One chapter you’re laughing like a crazy hyena and then the next thing you know you’re crying like a freaking baby.

Sydney, our heroine, is a lovely girl with a sassy attitude. I want to praise her because of her courage and strength. When I was reading this book, many times I’ve thought to myself that I wanted to be the kind of girl Sydney is. She’s witty and smart and the kind of girl I would definitely fall for if I were a guy.

Ridge, on the other hand, is the kind of boyfriend everyone would want. He is sexy, kind and most of all, he’s not an a-hole. It’s kind of funny because almost all of the male protagonists come of as good-looking jerks but Ridge? My oh my, he’s good-looking PLUS a gentleman. *insert heart eyes emoji*

WHAT I LOVED ABOUT THIS BOOK

  • It’s not insta-love. Their romance definitely underwent a process.
  • The characters!!!
  • The twists <3 //they’re unpredictable.
  • CoHo’s writing style. I never get tired of reading her books!
  • The songs.
  • Maybe Someday – Griffin Petterson

I don’t really want to give you any spoilers because I want you to enjoy the whole experience. But here are some of the lines in the book that I totally loved:

“For her I bend, for you I break.”

“Sometimes in life, we need a few bad days in order to keep the good ones in perspective.”

“How ever, I’ve learned that the heart can’t be told when and who and how it should love. The heart does whatever the hell it wants to do. The only thing we can control is whether we give our lives and our minds the chance to catch up to our hearts.”

My rating: ♡♡♡♡ (4.5 HEARTS, BABY)

Would you recommend it?: DEFINITELY YES

So there it is, I hope you’ll make time to read this beautiful book because if not, you’re totally missing out A LOT. Lol.

Have you read any Colleen Hoover books? What are you currently reading? What books are in your TBR list?

Sounds like an amazing book 😮 And it must be if you’ve read it more than once! There’s actually a film called “Maybe Someday” but completely different plot >_< I need to seriously make a reading list because there's so many books people are recommending but I keep forgetting titles haha thanks for sharing this!

I haven’t read this book and I couldn’t even remember a time when I’ve read Colleen Hoover’s books. Although my classmate kept on suggesting her books to me that she already read some of them but due to my never ending to-read books list, the list just goes on and on and I couldn’t put other books down especially new books in my school’s library. Ahh, the feels! I just fell in love with books all over again but I’ll try to read one of her books as soon as possible. I just hope our library will consider buying her works. I just can’t wait. 😀
